Why this matters more than it sounds
When Authy retired its desktop apps, people discovered there was no export at all — the only route out was re-enrolling every account by hand at every service. An export function is the difference between changing your mind and being trapped.
Handle the export file carefully
An export that another app can read contains your secrets in a readable form. That is unavoidable: the receiving app needs the secret to generate the same codes. So treat the file as you would a list of passwords — move it directly to the new app, and delete it immediately afterwards. For storage rather than migration, use an encrypted backup instead.
