KeyNesta for Android
Built and awaiting Play Store release. No launch date is set yet.
The Android app is written and working, and has not been released on the Play Store yet. No badge, no date, no countdown — when there is a store link this page will carry it. Until then the notify link below is the whole mechanism.
What you can do right now instead
The web app is live and is the complete product: vaults, spaces, nested groups, tags, ranked search, AES-256-GCM encryption, encrypted backups, imports from Google Authenticator, Aegis and 2FAS, and zero-knowledge sync. It runs in Chrome or Firefox on an Android phone as well as on a desktop.
What the native app adds
- Biometric unlock, instead of typing a passphrase each time.
- Camera QR scanning for enrolling a new account in one step.
- A native code list, built for one-handed use.
Being honest about the limits
- Sign-in on Android is email only at the moment. The Google and Apple sign-in options available elsewhere are not wired up on Android yet, so an email address and passphrase is the way in.
- There is no open beta on the Play Store today.
- There is no launch date, which is why none appears anywhere on this site.
- The notify link is a plain mailto — no list, no form, no tracking.
The other platforms
The web app is live today. iPhone is in the same position as Android: built, awaiting its store release.
Frequently asked questions
When will the Android app be on the Play Store?
No date has been set, so none is published. The app is built and the store release is pending. Email hello@keynesta.com to be told on the day it goes live.
Can I use KeyNesta on Android today?
Yes, through the web app in Chrome or Firefox. It is the full product rather than a preview, and it can be added to your home screen. Camera QR scanning is the one thing you will miss until the native app ships.
Why is Android sign-in email only?
The Google and Apple sign-in paths have not been wired up in the Android app yet. Email and passphrase works today and is the only option there. This is a gap being closed, not a design decision.
Will I be able to move my codes from Google Authenticator on the same phone?
Yes, the same way as anywhere else: Google Authenticator exports a transfer QR, and KeyNesta decodes it on your device. Today you would capture that QR and import it in the web app; see the step-by-step in the Google Authenticator import guide.
Try KeyNesta free. The web app needs no sign-up.
