How do I find one code among hundreds?

Short answer

Search is ranked and covers the entry name, issuer, account name, tags and the full group path at once, so typing two partial words from different fields finds the entry. In the web app a keyboard command palette does the same job without touching the mouse.

Search covers every field at once

Typing prod aws finds your production root account without you remembering which space you filed it under, because the group path is searched alongside the name. Results are ranked rather than filtered, so the closest match is first instead of you scrolling an alphabetical list.

The command palette

In the web app the same search is available from the keyboard as a command palette. Taking your hand off the keyboard to find a code you are about to type is a small daily insult, and this removes it.

When search is not the answer

If you are searching constantly for the same ten entries, make them favourites. If you are searching to avoid a long list, the list is the problem: move the dormant entries to the archive, which keeps them without showing them. See vaults, spaces and groups.
